Operations

The Ops Team

Matt Newfield - Vice President of Operations
I was born and raised in Bakersfield, California and have been surrounded by Agriculture, Oil, and all the industry that comes along with it my whole life. My experience ranges from working in a cement contractor’s shop, commercial salmon fishing off of the coast of Kodiak, Alaska, to being a production manager for a blueberry packing operation in central California. From all of these experiences I’ve learned that I love to work with my hands and be out moving around but that I can also talk to suppliers and complete any paperwork that is required of me. My future plans are not clear right now but I will most likely go into either the agriculture or oil industries because of availability of jobs in my home region.

Brandon Young - Administrator of Sales
I joined the IBC in an attempt to gain a better understanding of what it is like to work in a corporate setting. As a member of Siesta Solutions, I have had the opportunity to experience how different departments interact within a company. The entire process from brainstorming products to marketing our pillows and blankets has been an enlightening experience, which will help set me apart from other graduates heading out into the job market in the near future.

As a member of the Operations team, I have spent much of my time researching potential products as well as developing a system of internal controls. My work has given me a greater appreciation for the challenges that businesses face every day as they seek to manage and track inventory. In spite of the difficulties that inevitably arise, this has been a very rewarding department to work with. I would definitely recommend the IBC to any business major entering their junior year.

Julie Skelton - Director of Inventory
From Avon Lake, Ohio, Julie is a business management major. In addition to her involvement in the operations department of Siesta Solutions, she is involved in SIFE, Women in Business, and is the activities coordinator for Phi Gamma Psi, a women’s social service organization. With her passion to serve people, she desires to work for a Christian organization in project management. Her dream is to one day open an inn.

Brandon Tress - Administrator of Procurement
From Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Brandon Tress works in the Operations Department of Siesta Solutions. As Administrator of Procurement, he specifically worked to develop conceptually and obtain the Cedarville Micro Bead Pillow. A junior studying Accounting and Marketing, Brandon is the only member of this company who is married. Amanda, his wife, recently graduated and now works in the Marketing Department at Cedarville. He is also a hurdler on the CU Track & Field Team. He intends to have an internship in accounting and become a CPA.

Chucky Klint - Director of Procurement
Chucky Klint is actively involved with Siesta Solutions serving, among other things, as the Director of Procurement. He is a junior at Cedarville University heading towards a double major in Management and Finance with a minor in Bible. He is a member of Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), Financial Management Association (FMA), and Tau Alpha Sigma (Accounting Society). Upon graduation, Chucky plans to pursue his interests and skills in the construction management field and enter the ranks of Staalsen Construction Company Inc. Apart from the business world, Chucky is a member of the College Republicans, DSGL, and The Cedarville University Jazz Band.

Brian Garlow - Director of Quality Control
Brian is a Finance major and attaining an International Business minor at Cedarville University from Fairmont, WV. He serves as Director of Quality control within the Operations Department, which responsibilities include management of online sales, ensuring products meet Siesta Solution’s standard of quality, and working as a liaison with Marketing to provide additional concept testing research. Brian considers striving to make a product that enhances the Cedarville experience with a professionalism that glorifies Christ along side fellow classmates an invaluable experience.

Joshua Benson - Director of Retail
I am a junior Finance major working as the Director of Retail/Sales for Siesta Solutions. I’ve always had a passion for business, which is why I joined Cedarville SIFE and also created an online business over the summer. In the future, I hope to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration and work in the financial department of a tech company.
